The questions providers ask

Joining and cost

Is there a cost to join MedConnect? No. There is no upfront cost to join the FCA MedConnect network, and registration is free.

Who can join? MedConnect lists providers across more than 50 specialties, including chiropractors, orthopedic surgeons, pain management, physical therapy, imaging centers, neurologists, surgery centers and urgent care. Ask the MedConnect team whether your practice fits the network.

Do I have to accept liens? MedConnect is built around providers who treat on a lien or LOP, because that is what attorneys search for. Each profile shows whether the provider accepts liens.

Where does MedConnect operate? The network is currently focused on California.

What credential information should I prepare? Ask the team which current licenses, credentials, CVs and facility information it needs, who verifies them, and how updates should be submitted. Confirm the requirements for your practice rather than assuming a directory listing substitutes for credential verification.

What terms should I confirm before joining? Ask for the applicable participation terms in writing, including any services or charges beyond free registration. Clarify referral and scheduling responsibilities, profile updates, cancellation or withdrawal, and how patient information is exchanged securely.

Referrals and scheduling

How do attorneys find me? Attorneys and their staff search the directory by specialty and city or ZIP code. They can view your profile and CV, then match you to the patient’s needs, such as specialty, language, or expert testimony.

What happens when an attorney wants to book a patient? The attorney clicks “Schedule Appointment” on your profile. The MedConnect Intake Team handles onboarding, and FCA can help coordinate the first appointment.

What kinds of cases will I see? Mostly personal injury matters, such as car accidents, slip and falls, and other negligence-related injuries.

Can I track how my profile is performing? Yes. MedConnect provides insights into profile views, call volume, and patient caseloads, so you can see what your listing is producing.

Getting paid

How am I paid for lien or LOP treatment? Payment arrangements depend on the signed lien, LOP or other agreement and the outcome of the case. Do not treat a directory listing, referral or appointment request as a payment guarantee. Before accepting a case, confirm who is responsible for payment, when it is due, and how reductions or disputes will be handled.

Can FCA help with costly procedures like surgery? For eligible cases, FCA can review funding requests tied to surgery centers, hospital fees, and other treatment costs while the case is pending. Funding is subject to review and approval.

Does joining MedConnect guarantee patients? No. Referral volume depends on attorney searches, your specialty, location, and availability. MedConnect improves your visibility to PI firms but cannot promise a set number of patients.

Will I be asked to provide records or testimony? PI cases often need medical records, billing, and sometimes expert testimony. Attorneys can filter for providers who offer testimony, so note it on your profile if you do.

Does FCA tell me how to treat patients? No. Treatment decisions stay with you and your patient. FCA’s role is directory listing, intake coordination, and, where eligible, funding review.
